TOLKIEN FILKS - I am a Wraith
by Lea Frost
(Tune: "I Am a Rock" by Paul Simon)
Comments: Yes, I know the Nazgûl can (and do) die. I took some poetic license with the final line.
An autumn day,
In a sunny, bright September,
I ride alone.
Working for the Dark Lord,
Though once I was a king,
I'm looking for the man who has his Ring.
I am a Wraith,
I am a Nazgûl.
Barad-dûr,
A fortress deep and mighty,
That none could penetrate,
Until the Last Alliance
Brought on Sauron's fall,
And then he lost the Ring that rules them all.
I am a Wraith,
I am a Nazgûl.
Now I search
For a being called the Baggins.
He's nowhere to be found.
I know he's hiding somewhere
In a land they call the Shire.
And soon he'll learn to face the Dark Lord's ire!
I am a Wraith,
I am a Nazgûl.
I have my ring,
And my Morgul-knife to protect me,
And a Dwimmerlaik to fly on.
If you see us coming,
You'd better be afraid.
When Sauron gets the Ring we'll have it made!
I am a Wraith,
I am a Nazgûl.
And a Wraith brings you pain.
And a Nazgûl never dies.
